I SUCCESSFULLY RAN MY FIRST 5K!!!

I love how thin I look!!
This picture was taken pre-race before we got soaking wet, yes, that’s right, it rained. Really, really, really hard. For a long time.
When we got off the subway in Manhattan it was drizzling, then, as we waited in line for our numbers and waited for the race to start it rained harder and harder.

My camera isn’t blurry, it’s just raining so hard that everything looks out of focus.
See:

But it was ok, I much, much, much prefer running in the rain to running in the hot sun, humidity, and heat. I was actually cold when we were waiting to start.
The run itself was good. We made it over the bridge into Brooklyn in no time, but they we had a long run down a narrow path after we were actually off the bridge. Then, circling back onto the bridge again it was a big incline. But I did it and we made it over the bridge again and I ever spirted at the end!
Our time was 33:12 which is the longest it’s ever taken us. But we got stuck behind people a bunch of times, stopped for a few seconds to get water, and were generally weighed down by the extra weight of soaking wet clothes.
But it was great, I feel so accomplished. Like it doesn’t matter what else I do, I can say I successfully ran a 5k!

We were going to go straight to breakfast from the run but instead we decided to go home and change into dry clothes. Once we were ready again we headed back into the city to go to Clinton Street Baking Company. They have great food, but the wait is insane. We waited about an hour and a half to sit down:

And of course about 15 mins into the wait it starts downpouring. Then, we’re finally seated, and they sit this family with 3 little kids next to us. And the place is so small their table is touching ours. It just wasn’t at all relaxing. Then I see on the menu it’s cash only, which I had forgotten about, and I only have $4 so I need to run out, in the pouring rain, to get money.
But it was worth it. I had the blueberry pancakes with mapple butter:

And hash browns and a lime squash to drink. I feel full and gross, but it’s good.
Now I’m home, in bed, relaxing. I have to clean the bathroom sometime tonight but for now I just want to take it easy.
