As I mentioned in this post I recently went through my closet and cleaned out everything that doesn’t fit me. All in all it came out to be 4 giant garbage bags full of clothes to donate and one bag to throw out.
I’ve always been someone who’s attatched to clothes (I still remember my puffy paint clown shirt from 3yo that my mom threw away) so I thought I’d do a little tribute to the good times I had in the now discarded clothes.

Black dress from Banana Republic. Wore it to the 2009 Inaugural Ball and to a charity gala.

Brown jacket from Macy’s. Wore it on many, many, many job interviews after college.

Jeans from J. Crew. Got them my senior year of college, wore them to all different things including at this Superbowl party.

Navy sweater (I’ll get to the bermuda shorts later) from Banana Republic. Bought the summer before my senior year of college when I interned for ABC News in Washington, DC. Worn on many occaisons that summer and over the next few years including at this trip to the Museum of the American Indian.

Khaki pants from J. Crew. You can’t see them here, but I remember wearing them. Bought the same summer I interned in DC, so comfortable! Wore them a lot that summer and when I started working after college including on my trip to the Midwest Booksellers Assosication trade show, pictured here.

Tweet pants from Banana Republic. Bought my junior year of college when I worked at Banana Republic (worst job ever). These were amazing pants. So flattering, so classy looking, and comfortable. I wore them here when I won the Maurice Rabbino Award my senior year of college. I also wore them my junior year of college when I went to the White House to watch the State of the Union address.

Blue plaid scarf from Banana Republic. I think I bought this my senior year of high school, can’t remember if it’s from the outlet or retail store. I don’t think I wore it much, but I did wear it here, during my first year of college (look how young I look!). This picture was taken right after I got my hair cut.

Pink polo shirt from the Gap. Can’t remember when I bought it, towards the end of high school I think. I wore it a lot over the next 6 years or so including hanging out with friends in the mall parking lot where we worked.

MC Hammer pants from Forever 21. These were bought my sophomore year of college to wear to Vegas Night, an annual party at Mt. Holyoke. I wore them to many other “party” occaisons.

Pink sweater from the Gap. Bought my senior year of high school and saved it to wear in college. This picture is from my sophomore year of college, pretty sure we were watching the Red Sox in the playoffs in this picture. (Like my dark hair? And what about my bad skin???)

Blue Mount Holyoke sweatshirt purchased for my by my aunt my first year at MHC. Don’t Candy and I make a cute couple? LOL! The sweatshirt still fits fine, it just has some nasty stains from my wearing it all the time. And, btw, this picture kind of makes me want to wear eye makeup again.

Blue workout pants from Old Navy. Oh, I just remembered how I got these!! They were purchased my junior year of college when I went to the mall with my friend Alexis (pictured left). While we went to the mall often we went this time because there was a hurricane headed towards Houston (her hometown) and I was trying to take her mind off of it. I bought these yoga pants at Old Navy and the cashier made a mistake and only charged me $4 for them (I think they were $25 or so) and I didn’t correct her and I still feel guilty. This picture was taken on Mountain Day, a Mount Holyoke tradition where classes are randomly cancelled for the day and everyone is supposed to climb Mount Holyoke.

Black skirt from J. Crew. You can’t see it here, but I was wearing it on the bottom, I promise. It was bought for my 21st birthday, which is pictured here. I wore it a lot over the next few years since it was cotton and fit me no matter how much weight I gained.

Blue paisley bathing suit from the Gap. Bought online the summer after my sophomore year of college. It’s a tankini and they didn’t have matching bottoms so I bought black bottoms but it turns out that the bathing suit had brown in it, not black and that always bothered me.

Nantucket red Bermuda shorts from J. Crew. Bought the summer I was interning in DC at the J. Crew in Georgetown (possibly my favorite J. Crew ever). I wore them to work that summer pretty often including on this field trip to the US Capitol.
AND tan sweater from Banana Republic. Purchased that same summer (I also had it in Kelly green and lavender), I wore it quite often over the next year. It was kind of loose so it “hid” my weight gain.

Pink shirt from Banana Republic. Purchased on sale in summer 2008. It was big on me now, but probably still wearable. However, I’ve only worn it 2 or 3 times because it’s not that flattering AND it’s a pain in the ass to iron and I hate taking clothes that don’t need to be dry cleaned to the dry cleaners.

Floral skirt from Free People. Purchased at the end of my junior year of college, another thing that was good because it had a cotton waist and fit me no matter how much weight I gained. (Note I’m wearing the brown sweater from above.) I wore it a lot my summer in DC and I wore it here at Strawberries and Champagne, an event Mt. Holyoke has for seniors on the final day of class.
Wow, I’m so glad I did this. It was VERY theraputic. I feel free! Although it was probably super weird for anyone else to read!
