I originally started this blog to blog about losing weight, exercising, and being a healthier, happier person. But in the year that I’ve had the blog I’ve moved away from just writing about my eating and exercise habits and the blog has turned into more of just a story of my life.
While being a healthy person is still important to me, and it will probably remain a big part of the blog, I’m absolving myself from feeling pigeon-holed into only posting about one thing.
For my previous about me page see here.
To give you a better idea of what you’re dealing with here I give you 10 random things about me:
1. I am a tennis fan in the way that many Americans are football fans. I can recall specific points, I wake up at 3am to watch matches, I attended 8 US Open sessions in 2009. Crazy, I know, but it gives me a high tolerance for other people’s obsessions.
2. I took up running in the past year and it’s become one of my passions. I’ve completed 3 5K races, a 10-mile race, and a half marathon.
3. I love cooking and baking for other people.
4. I think one of the best ways to spend time is just hanging out, doing ordinary things, having a great time just laughing and joking around.
5. I’m a highly competitive (in a good-natured way) person. I love card games, board games, stupid bets and also watching pretty much any sport on TV or, even better, in person.
6. My main goal in life is to do more international traveling. Current dream destinations are Spain and Argentina.
7. One of my favorite things to do on a summer Saturday is to spend all day at the Red Hook Vendors eating great food and watching soccer games.
8. There aren’t too many things in life that I take seriously.
9. I used to be a very picky eater, but I’ve expanded my horizons over the past few years and I’m really enjoying trying lots of different foods.
10. My favorite characters on Mad Men are Don and Peggy.

That is awesome Maggie. I also lost the majority of my weight on weight watchers and loved the flexibility of it too. You have an inspiring story, best of luck!
I really liked reading your story. That’s awesome that you’re training for your first 1/2 marathon. I’m about to start training for my 2nd!
Thanks! Good luck with your half. I’ve actually been reading your blog for a while and I was totally shocked when I went to comment and my info wasn’t pre-loaded. I couldn’t believe I never commented before!
Hi Maggie, I’ve just found your blog, I am currently on week 3 of the c25k program so it’s great to hear about someone’s success story and see them go on to train for marathons!
I’ll be a regular reader from now on so good luck with your half & I’m looking forward to hearing about it!
Shelley
Thanks! I’m glad to have you. I can’t say enough nice things about the Couch to 5k, it’s the whole reason I was able to run a half marathon today. Good luck with it and let me know how it goes!
